Choose Your Own (Learning) Path
--
Hello Shades Readers, we hope you are all having an amazing summer so far!
August is a great month as many events and activities are in full swing, however it is a bittersweet month as well since we know that the end of August signals ,for many of us, colder weather and of course, the start of the new school year.
This month, we are going to focus some of our time on exploring different learning paths to show how many options there are to learn and grow your skills in order to be successful at what you want to do.
Traditionally, there has always been a notion that after high school, the way to go is to get a University degree and then, to specialize further or to enter the working world, armed with whatever degree you pursued. Many people who didn’t go down this path and who may have gone to colleges or vocational schools may suffer feelings of remorse or a lack of accomplishment – we are here to tell you that you should absolutely not feel like that at all. There are two old fashioned ideologies at play here – one is that University is the way to go and the second is that whatever you decide you want to pursue in your early life is what you will be doing decades later. The reality is that with this ever-changing world, you may change careers a few times…and that’s ok!
In addition, the internet has created access to learning that has never been possible before. There are so many educational websites, courses, distance learning that is available, the options are actually quite staggering.
Please note that we are not saying that going to University is a bad thing…of course not! It just isn’t the only path to having a successful career.
So for now, we will leave you with the idea that learning is possible in many ways. Stay tuned for more information through the month.
Have a great week and as always, please share us!
