Shades readers, we are officially experiencing the end of summer blues.  Yes, we know it is only the middle of August and we still have some time before we have to pull out our winter coats and boots (ugh) but have you noticed that not only is the sun setting earlier in the day, it is pretty dark in the mornings now as well?  It is the sign of summer winding down and we don’t like it one bit!

Summer in Toronto has always been pretty magical, probably because we all know how quickly the time flies.  From the sounds of lawns being mowed in the early morning (not too early on the weekends, please) to being out in the sunshine to almost 10pm at nigh with droves of others enjoying themselves at the peak of the season, we love every minute, even the really hot, humid minutes.

What is your favourite summer activity or event that you’ve experienced so far this year, wherever you may be located?  We’ve had a few like the 50th anniversary celebration that we wrote about last week, spending weekends at the cottage and a couple of trips, including one to New York City this past weekend.  It has been a great summer so far.

What are you looking forward to before the official start to Fall and Winter?  Give us some recommendations because we need you to cheer us up, Shades readers, so please share in the comments!
